With an average water temperature of 25°C in the summer, the iconic Lake Geneva combines all the advantages of a seaside resort with a majestic mountainous setting!
Its lovely warm waters are more than a match for Mediterranean seaside resorts and what’s more it’s freshwater! Thanks to its low altitude (372m) the idyllic setting provides views along the Swiss lakeshores with their beautiful beaches setup in lush green parks, and across the Swiss and Haute-Savoie mountain peaks. What can we say, it’s the picture-perfect postcard!
And, not forgetting, the Pavillon Bleu label, which guarantees the quality of the water and the beaches. This year, four sites in the region have been awarded, the Centre Nautique d’Évian, Amphion-les-Bains (Publier) municipal beach, Neuvecelle and Saint-Gingolph municipal beach.
Suffice to say that Lake Geneva, the largest lake in Central Europe, with its surface area of 580km2 is way more than just a natural element guised as a French-Swiss border. A true link, in the shape of a crescent moon (or croissant), which has always been a major mainstay for transport and communication.
Whether on the Swiss or French side, Lake Geneva’s shorelines give shape to our imagination where tranquility and wellness radiate.
