Historical tour of the town – walking route

    Starting at the tourist office, a loop punctuated with 14 information panels tells the history of the town’s principal buildings, from the Middle Ages to the Belle Époque period. Free tourist-loop map available at the tourist office.

    The historical circuit allows to discover:
    Church “Notre Dame de l’Assomption”, Church street, Market square ( now Place Charles de Gaulle), old castle of the counts of Savoy (on the site of the current hôtel de France), médieval hospital, Cachat pump room, the funicular railway, the Fonbonne castle, the Palais Lumière, the villa Lumière (current town hall), theater and Casino.
